PoliciesRegistration and Cancellation ProcessIf you have any difficulty using this online registration site, please e-mail us at info@familyinstitutecamb.org or call 617 924-2617 and we will mail, e-mail, or fax you a registration form. We are also happy to take your registration over the telephone with a valid Visa or Mastercard (sorry, we do not accept any other credit cards).Receipts If you register online, you will receive a receipt via e-mail. If you register by telephone, mail or fax, your credit card record or cancelled check is your receipt; if this is not sufficient, please request a receipt. Confirmation Your registration will be confirmed by mail if you register more than two weeks prior to an event; if you register less than two weeks prior to an event, we will send your confirmation via e-mail. Confirmations will include directions, parking information, information regarding meals, and any other pertinent information. We do not accept partial deposits to hold space. We will confirm registration when the full fee is received. Sliding Scale Offerings Most of our courses are offered on a sliding scale basis. The Family Institute's sliding scale for training fees reflects our commitment to creating a more inclusive and welcoming training center. Please feel free to pay any amount within the specified range, in accordance with what you can afford and what you feel is fair. As a not-for-profit organization funded largely by donations, we encourage you to treat the upper price limit as our standard workshop fee, as it most accurately reflects the true cost and value of Family Institute trainings. But whatever you decide to pay, please know that you are welcome at the Family Institute! Cancellation/Refund Policy With the exception of an administrative fee of $50, we will refund tuition until two weeks before the first day of your course. We refund all fees if we cancel your course for any reason. We will issue a credit redeemable toward a future Family Institute course for any cancellation received within two weeks prior to the first day of your course. We cannot give any refunds or credits for cancellations we receive after your course begins. Group and Student Discounts; Financial Assistance Discounts For courses with a fixed price (other than Core Programs), the Family Institute offers several levels of discounts from our regular prices. Early-bird pricing offers 10% off regular pricing until 28 days prior to the first day of each course. We also offer group discounts to groups registering at the same time and from the same organization; for 2-5 people, the discount is 10%, and for 6 people or more, the discount is 15%. Group discounts may be combined with early-bird discounts; in other words, a group of 5 people registering more than 28 days prior to a workshop would receive 10% off of the early-bird price. Finally, we offer a student discount of 20% to full-time students in a degree-granting program. Student discounts may be combined with early-bird discounts, but the group discount rate is not available to groups of full-time students. Groups interested in taking advantage of group discounts should contact the Family Institute at 617-924-2617. Students may register directly below, but will be asked to provide proof of full-time student status (i.e., a student ID faxed to 617-924-5111) before the registration will be approved. Application process for Core Programs Only (does not apply to Workshops and Special Events):All persons registering for a Core Program must submit a curriculum vitae or resume (via mail, fax to 617-924-5111 or e-mail to info@familyinstitutecamb.org). All Core Programs require an interview with the instructor for admission. A $50 non-refundable fee is included in all Core Program prices; this fee is used to offset the cost of holding interviews. Please be aware that if your application is rejected for any reason, your $50 application fee can not be returned. Preference will be given to early applicants. Applications will be accepted as long as space is available. Time payment plans can be arranged for those wishing to spread the cost of a Core Program over several months; please contact Amy at 617-924-2617 to make the necessary arrangements. We will confirm your registration when the full fee is received or a payment plan is agreed to.Payment Plans As mentioned above, we are happy to arrange payment plans for students participating in Core Programs for whom payment of the full fee in advance of the class would be a significant hardship. However, please understand that you owe us the full amount of the Core Program tuition as of the first day of class. If you choose to drop the class after the first day, whether you have paid in full or have established a payment plan, NO REFUNDS CAN BE GIVEN and you will be required to honor the payment plan until payment in full is made. (Of course, if we cancel the course after the first day, we will give appropriate refunds.) Payment plans MUST be arranged no later than the end of the first day of class. Payment plans can be structured flexibly to take your particular financial circumstances into account (i.e., number of payments, due dates, method of payment); however, all payment plans must be set up so that we receive payment of the full tuition before the last day of class. Financial AssistanceFinancial aid is available for all programs other than Sliding Scale offerings, with priority given to clinicians working with underserved or underprivileged populations. Please contact us for a financial aid application.Notice of NondiscriminationThe Institute does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, nationality, ethnic origin, or sexual orientation in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, or scholarship and loan programs.
