Frequently Asked QuestionsQ. Can I make an appointment with a therapist here?A. The Family Institute of Cambridge is a training institute; we do not provide any clinical services to individuals or families. However, we do have a number of faculty who have private practices, and we would be happy to give your name to our faculty referral coordinator, who will be in touch with you promptly. Just call 617-924-2617 and ask to leave a referral message. Q. Do you take insurance? A. The Family Institute of Cambridge is a training institute; we do not provide any clinical services to individuals or families. However, we do have a number of faculty who have private practices, many of whom accept a variety of insurances. Just call 617-924-2617 and ask to leave a referral message. Q. I took a course with you but I've lost my CE certificate. Can I get a replacement? A. We are happy to replace lost certificates for a fee of $10. Please call us at 617-924-2617 with the name of the course and the date on which you attended. Q. I took a course with you but I have not received my CE certificate. What's up? A. We are authorized to issue CE certificates only in accordance with the rules of our accrediting organizations. In order to receive a certificate, you must complete and return to us an evaluation form. You must also attend at least 80% of the course (100% in the case of psychologists) in order to receive a certificate. Please contact us with any questions about issuance of CE certificates. Q. I need to withdraw from a course I've signed up for. Can I get a refund? A. With the exception of an administrative fee of $25, we will refund tuition until two weeks before the first day of your course. We refund all fees if we cancel your course for any reason. We will issue a credit redeemable toward a future FIC course for any cancellation received within two weeks prior to the first day of your course. We cannot give any refunds or credits for cancellations we receive after your course begins. Q. I registered for a course but I haven't received a confirmation or directions to the event. When should I expect those? A. Many people register for our courses several months prior to the date; others do so a couple of days in advance. We send a confirmation letter, with directions and other pertinent information, to everyone registered for a course approximately two weeks prior to the date of the course. Anyone registering after that date will receive a confirmation letter within three business days following their registration. For most people, a cancelled check or an entry on your credit card statement serves as your receipt; however, if you need a separate receipt for any reason, we're happy to prepare one. Q. Do I need to buy any books or other materials for my class? A. Most of our classes do not require the purchase of books or other materials. However, if your course requires the purchase of any particular materials, the course description on this website will provide full details. |
